In this music video performed by
Linkin Park and created by Joe Hahn,we can see the irony of humanity and
all the consequences of our actions on the human being itsef, and also in the
environment.
The video starts showing an eagle
flying in the sky over the desert,which for me represents the identity of
United States of America that is show in the whole video. Additionally we can
notice some elements of the American culture represented as "sins" in
the video, such as, the image of a starving African woman that is rapidly
followed by the deadly sin,Glottony, that is represented by an overweight man
eating a enormous and grotesque sandwich.
Also in the video
we can notice that important characters are shown,for
instance,Hitler,Mussonlini,Robert Kennedy,Buddha,Gandhi,etc.This elements calls
my attention because I was able to discover what was the intention of the band;
to contrast elements. Some of the characters were heartless and rude,and others
merciful and kind.In this sense we have many conflicting elements.
In the lyrics of
the song we can hear the chorus "What I've done" showing regret for
all the horrible moments in the human history which correspond to different
pictures showed,for example the explostion of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and
Nagasaki that is one of the biggest genocides in the human history and The Ku
Klux Clan that fought by white supremacy and whom killed thousands of
Afroamerican people who were fighting for their civil rights. In my point of
view this video show us how contradictory life can be,we ask for forgiveness
,but we are still making the same mistakes and forgetting what we have done.We
always remain in the same circle,not paying attention in the wrong things that
we do everyday and doing nothing to change some important issues,such as
famine,genocide,war,consumerism,civil rights and topics related to the
destruction of the environment.

This video calls my attention in some ways, as Damaris says, it has a mixture of certain facts about culture through the years, about important periods of time that last until today, What I've done lyrics, remains to think and rethink about what things we did, were wrong, and we cannot fix them anymore. It invites us to have in mind we must be attent on what we are saying, on that we are thinking and on what we are doing, it is a warning in which we must be alert.
